HTC Addresses Multitasking Concerns For One X, S, V – Calls It “Sense” Optimized

Before the release of the HTC One X , S and V, HTC was making the rounds, touting Sense 4.0 as the lightest, leanest version of their Android skin ever . We were inclined to believe them after seeing how zippy and kicky fast Sense was, not only real world usability tests, but in benchmarks as well. As it turns out, Sense may not be as lean as we once thought. The internet has been abuzz recently, after a user uploaded a video showcasing a uniquely Sense multitasking issue, in which the HTC One X will keep only a very minimal amount of apps paused in the background. The result are apps that need to reloaded when revisiting them again. HTC’s response?

Ever wanted to unleash your inner T-Pain? Now you can with Songify , a new app for Android 2.2 and higher that automatically converts speech into music. You may be familiar with Songify as a popular iOS app endorsed by the Gregory Brothers, the musically-inclined group behind YouTube channel AutoTune the News. The app has finally crossed over to Android and is available now as a freemium app. Songify lets users select a song as the background music and then has them record vocals. The vocals are then run through audio processing the over-corrects the pitch to give it that distinct sound

Report: Project Glass won’t be as robust as promo video shows

All of the cool things Google showed in its initial Project Glass promo video may not be what we get in final product form. The “terminator style overlay,” as CNet puts it , won’t be present in the first batches of the product. They report that bits of information will only be displayed just above your level field of view on the right side. That would solve the “walking into a deathtrap” scenario that people initially feared, but it makes it sound as if Google Goggles will be a lot less cool than initially imagined.

Today being Mother’s Day, I couldn’t help but look back and think of the role my mom has played in my life so far. It’s kind of difficult not to when people keep sharing this beautiful P&G advertisement on Facebook. Sure, I might not be an Olympian, but to her I’m running a different race that holds as much importance. We spend a lot of time together, often play golf together, and she’s one of the first people I share anything I create with. More often than not, she doesn’t fit the target demographic, but her approval, and more importantly the excitement she has gives me a whole lot of encouragement. Going against the usual “iOS is more user-friendly” cliche thrown around the web, my mom actually prefers Android

Angry Birds Developers Reveal Upcoming Title “Amazing Alex” – New Rube Goldberg-Style Puzzler

A few days ago, Angry Birds creator, Rovio, uploaded a video onto their YouTube page celebrating over 1 billion downloads accumulated across their entire Angry Birds franchise. At the end of said video, the Finnish developers also teased their next title, showing a boy with complex contraptions along the wall of his room. If you were expecting more high-flying fowl, you may be disappointed. It turns out that Rovio is working on a completely new game, sans birds of any kind. Dubbed “Amazing Alex,” the game closely resembles the Rub Goldberg-style gameplay of another game called “Casey’s Contraptions” — an intellectual property Rovio recently purchased.
