Motorola is now officially owned and operated by Google. The landmark acquisition was first announced in August 2011 , but it did not become official until the deal gained approval from the United States, European Union, and China. Now that these three major hurdles have cleared, Google can start playing with its new toy. Google has stated that Motorola will operate as a separate business, but it has replaced CEO Sanjay Jha with Dennis Woodside, a Google veteran who has experience at various operations in Europe and Africa. Though Jha will no longer run Motorola, he will continue during a transitional period

Attention HTC Amaze 4G owners, T-Mobile has an update ready for you. And, yes, it’s Android 4.0. The upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich can be pulled from the HTC Software Updates dialog under Settings and brings about all the enhancements you might expect from a move to the latest Android OS> The new software is pretty similar to that released for the HTC Sensation 4G last week and features Sense 3.6 as opposed to Sense 4, which features on HTC’s recent ICS models such as the HTC One X . Despite keeping an older version of HTC’s custom interface, the Amaze 4G is expected to take advantage of the performance increases inherent in Android 4.0. The Samsung Galaxy S3 is about the most anticipated device of 2012, and it was only a matter of time before someone got a hold of all the new features it comes with. The guys at XDA Developers have managed to get the device’s full stock firmware, and it is now up for grabs. Simply put, this is a gold mine for custom ROM developers. They will be able to take advantage of all software features, like Smart Stay and S-Voice. Devs are working on it as we speak, so let the fun begin. We will also be able to extract all those .apk files.
