The boys from Rovio are revving up their engines, firing up yet another Angry Birds sequel due on June 18th. This time, the Finnish developers are taking their feathered friends to the race track in Angry Birds Heikki. For those of you unawares, Heikki Kovalainen is a Formula 1 race car driver from Rovio’s homeland of Finland, and if those checkered flags are any indication, we’ll be seeing some sort of race themed environments to fling our favorite angry critters across. Well, either that or we’re looking at kart racing game starting the Angry Birds (not likely). Actually, we’re not even so sure this will hit mobile devices with MSN mentioning it could be a browser-only title (also not likely). In other Rovio news, the company is celebrating 20+ million downloads with the plans to open up more Angry Birds theme parks, this time in China

Facebook acquires Karma, let’s see if something good comes around
Well Facebook just seems to be on a roll lately. The Social Network is purchasing companies left and right, with the most recent including Instagram and Lightbox. But now they have decided to acquire Karma, a social gifting app. Simply put, Karma allows users to connect to Facebook via their app and send people gifts. Why would Facebook want this service?
Official Google Wallet app requesting root permission
Something odd is going on with the Google Wallet app. After a recent update the app appears to be requesting root access, though the initial report is that nothing has changed within Google Wallet that would need root access. Some suggest Google is doing this to check if a phone is rooted or not so they can deny access, but the app has worked for some whether they grant it access or not. Another odd thing is that some people were not able to use the app after allowing it root access, but were able to use it once they disallowed it. In other words, we have no idea what’s going on with Google Wallet. Nothing in the changelog suggests Google made this change intentionally.

Evernote for Android Receives Overhauled Ice Cream Sandwich UI and All New Features
It’s rare you see a cross platform developer implement Android 4.0 design practices into their application but Evernote is showing they’re one of the few that can make it happen. With their latest 4.0 update, they’ve introduced a completely redesigned app that is easily their greatest update — ever . Everything from their homescreen to their note and notebook lists have been completely redesigned to take advantage of new swipe gestures and more intuitive controls that make finding and getting to your notes quicker, and easier than ever before. You’ll also notice new Android 4.0 designed “action bars” running along the bottom of the app that are context sensitive based on where you are in the app. When reading a note, the action bar will disappear giving you a full screen to view your note without any distractions. Places is Evernotes new area for viewing notes according to where they were made
Developers, please, don’t ever use SellARing to monetize your app
I’ve always felt notification bar ads are the worst things to have ever been created. However, such is the beauty of the human mind that we’re always, always capable of exceeding our previous achievements (whether for the good or for the bad). So, what could be more annoying than ads in the notification bar? How about audio advertisements played every time you make a call. If you’ve read my articles in the past, you’d know that I would uninstall any app that comes with AirPush or something like that in it
