KALISPELL, Mont. (AP) — State officials have given a western Montana couple living south of Kalispell at Woods Bay the OK to kill a mountain lion that has taken up residence near their home and appears comfortable around humans.

The officers planned to use rubber buckshot to haze the lion back to the wild area and away from the neighborhood. But the lion never returned.
