HTC Desire C offers Android 4.0 and Beats Audio in a smaller and more affordable package

It can be easy to get lost in the parade of high-end smartphones that are announced every week. Believe it or not, not everyone needs all the bells and whistles – they just want a solid phone that can run an app or two. The HTC Desire C is a phone trying to meet that need. HTC revealed today that the Desire C will target first time smartphone buyers and people looking to upgrade within the entry-level smartphone class. The company didn’t say much about the internal specs, but it did confirm that some of the great things in higher end phones will be present.

Samsung Galaxy S3 hits the FCC

It looks like the Samsung Galaxy S3 is just another step closer to making its way to North America as it hit the FCC this morning . This device supports AT&T’s HSPA+ radios, but will not work on T-Mobile’s as those users would likely be stuck on Edge. Couple in in the fact that LTE is absent and we’d say this one is going to be headed straight for the great white north. Of course, no North American carriers have announced plans to carry the device but we’re alright with assuming some will in due time. In the meantime, if Samsung wanted to sell the Galaxy S3 in North America right now, they very well could. That’s worth something, right?

Cyanogenmod 9 nightlies come to HTC Sensation and Sensation 4G on T-Mobile

Sensation users of all sorts on T-Mobile will be happy to know that they’ll now be able to get in on all the CM9 nightly fun. The project, which has been in development since the moment Google pushed Android 4.0 source code to the AOSP, have been hard at work on nightlies for the Galaxy line, various Samsung phones, the ASUS Transformer line, the Galaxy Tab line, and more since earlier this month. The project as a whole is taking them a lot longer than they initially thought. An original hopeful launch window of February and March have been in the rear view mirror for quite some time, but it’s hard to complain when they’re doing this for free and for fun (unless, of course, you count the donations they receive).

Apple releases Flashback removal tools for OS X 10.5

In September 2011, Apple stopped software support for OS X 10.5 in favor of OS X 10.6 or later, including security updates for the older OS. However, in light of the recent malware attacks that have left users of OS X 10.5 vulnerable to exploit, and perhaps following recent criticism of its approaches to security, Apple has issued new tools to help users of OS X 10.5 better secure their systems …

Rumor: DROID Incredible 4G LTE to cost $150 after mail-in rebate

Verizon wasn’t ready to dive into too many availability details when they first announced the new HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE , but it seems we have at least one side of the story confirmed. According to materials received by Droid-Life , the DROID Incredible 4G could be coming in at $150 under a new two-year agreement. This falls in line with the competitive price point that Verizon was trying to introduce the phone at in order to attract more wallets. For it to be any higher would be a bit of an insult considering this phone isn’t quite as powerful as other S4 phones on competing carriers. In any case, this’ll be a pretty affordable option up against other 4G phones in Verizon’s arsenal.

Test shots from Galaxy S3 for top four carriers surface

It looks like Samsung might be on track for a June launch with at least one of their carrier partners here in the United States. Devices are already in the hands of testers and, as you’d imagine, those eager souls have begun uploading photos from the device’s camera to the internet. PocketNow procured the shots and have provided one from each version of the device. T-Mobile’s sample can be seen above. The shots show us nothing terribly special about the camera itself, though most of these shots are admittedly bad. Take a look at the rest at the source link.

Facebook for Android being updated to include larger photos in timeline and bigger album previews

Facebook is heading towards a multibillion dollar IPO this week, so the company is putting its best foot forward. We already know that Facebook is going to introduce ads soon, but first it’s introducing a slightly better design for its mobile website and apps, a huge source of traffic. The Facebook for Android app will soon be updated to feature some improvements and user interface changes. The most noticeable tweak will be that images will be larger and take up the entire screen in the timeline.

Samsung T699 with 720p display for T-Mobile shows up in user agent profile

T-Mobile may soon be set to introduce a monster of a phone. One Samsung T699 has popped up in a user agent profile. While these don’t tend to give us much information, we can usually count on them to drop one or two nuggets. This particular phone will apparently come equipped with a 720p display, something that always leads us to believe we’ll be seeing a high-end option.
